I am home again! I had quite the travel fiasco yesterday and ended up having one of those movie scene running-to-the-gate kind of adventures, but I made it!
I thought I would do a travel edition of WIAW of most the things I ate while I was in Colorado.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so I certainly never skip it.
I started the trip with some Starbucks blueberry oatmeal & a cinnamon dolce latte on my flight out. I’d never had their oatmeal before. OMG good!
Also pictured is… fresh fruit & an English muffin w/PB, blueberry muffins that I made at my dad’s with some Greek yogurt, and a blueberry scone.
I guess the theme for breakfast this trip was blueberry!
So… I kind of somehow didn’t really eat a “real” lunch the entire trip. I did have a small ham & turkey sandwich and some toast with peanut butter as “lunch” but didn’t take any pictures of them.
For my baby shower, we had some snacks and that were pretty much my lunch that day. I had some mini quiches, fruit kabobs, pretzels, & a cupcake but again wasn’t taking photos.
I’m totally used to eating pretty small snacks throughout the day most of the time now, as my giant preggo belly is taking up all the space & my stomach can’t fit much at once.
The one place I had to stop while I was in Colorado is a chain called Old Chicago’s. They’re all over the West but there are none close to Boston. The chain actually started in Colorado & their pizza is my favorite.
I got my “usual,” which is pepperoni with pineapple. Sounds odd, but I dare you to try it and tell me it’s not good!
After my shower, I had a chicken Cesare salad that my mom made – so good! The next night I had dinner with my family and we made grilled chicken, cheesy bread, & had a broccoli salad.
When I got stuck in Detroit on Monday, I opted to order in from a pizza place in town.
I just had pizza, so I wasn’t really in the mood for that. When I saw lasagna on the menu with cheese bread & a side salad for $10, I was in.
I didn’t realize that this meal would feed a small army though! I probably had 1/3 of the salad, 1/4 of the lasagna, and I may have eaten all the cheese bread… Definitely stuffed after that meal!
The trip, of course, wasn’t complete without some treats.
My mom got these adorable and delicious bee cupcakes for my shower. There was lemon cupcakes with lemon frosting and zucchini cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
You know I tried both 😉 The lemon was my favorite.
I also made some chocolate chip cookies at my dad’s when we all had dinner together.
These also came in handy, as I took a bag of them with me. I munched on them while I was stranded in Detroit!
