I literally feel like time is flying lately. Monday, already? It’s that or I’m just really bad at being productive lately. Pretty sure it’s a combo of the two. Either way, this weekend went by fast.
Saturday the hubby and the Beanerator and I all went down to Bunker Hill for a lunch date. I told hubs that I wanted to do this as soon as the weather got nice. And guess what? It was finally nice out!
The pretty green lawn in front of Bunker Hill was just calling for a picnic. Not a bad place to have lunch, eh?
It was pretty and the spot on top of the hill overlooks the city a little, but it was really windy, so we were actually pretty cold.
Picnic eats: fruit salad, chicken salad in a hot dog bun (I ran out of bread!), and some Gruyère to munch on.
We went to walk around that area of town for a little bit in hopes of finding a coffee shop. Turns out, there was actually nothing around. Really strange for Boston, if you ask me! But we found these springy blooms everywhere along the way. So gorgeous!
Beans didn’t mind soaking up the sun either.
After that, we drove around and just kind of got lost for a while, exploring, which we never do. Since we didn’t have any other plans, I was totally fine with it. We ended up finding this really cute bakery and getting some afternoon treats.
Iced mocha, Reece’s cookie, coconut macaroon, and a chocolate tort!
Clearly, no one in this household has a sweet tooth or anything…
The bakery we went to was no joke, though. They had EVERYTHING you could ever want and it all looked impeccable.
Trust me, I wanted to order like 5 different things. Annnd, I didn’t even eat that coconut macaroon yet! My eyes are always bigger than my stomach.
Sunday ended up having even more gorgeous weather than Saturday, at almost around 70 degrees! We went to church and then went to a friend’s for a barbecue where I literally ate my body weight in chips & dip. Didn’t catch any photos there as I forgot the camera, and it’s probably a good thing because I don’t want to see any more chips or dip in my future!
I spent the rest of Sunday night prepping for the week. Sunday is always my “prep” time before the week starts. I meal plan and make a grocery list, plan out my workouts, do any blog planning if I’ve got the time, and tidy up the house a bit.
However, I got really stressed out by my meal planning yesterday. I should probably write a whole post about how
stressed perfectionistic I get about meal planning in general, but here’s a little glimpse of what I do each week.
Maybe it doesn’t look like a lot on paper, but I map out my breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts for the whole week and plug it into that calendar. This takes me foreverrrr. Maybe someday I’ll find a way to do this without wanting to gauge my eyes out.
But I’m excited to try some of these recipes this week:
Have a great Monday, peeps!
