Bonjour! How was your weekend?
I had a mix of busy and productive over the weekend, which has been a nice change from my typically pretty lazy weekends as of late.
Friday night I got together with some other pregnant girlfriends from my church to catch up and pray about our pregnancies & babies-to-be. It was so refreshing to confide in other women going through the same thing. I realized that all pregnant women are a mix of loving it and hating it at the same time. It was relieving and encouraging to know that that’s okay. It’s also pretty awesome to pray for your little one while they are vigorously kicking inside you!
Saturday was very busy as I had two baby showers to attend. Thankfully they were at different times so I could go to both. Both my friends are also expecting girls. It was really fun to see them & enjoy some much-needed girl time.
Here’s some favors I got from the showers.
I’m also getting really excited for my own baby showers. I am going back home to Colorado next weekend for a baby shower at my moms. Then I’m having one at my house for friends here in early March.
The invitations for that shower went out this weekend. So pretty!
The fact that the showers are so soon are really starting to make things real to me. It’ll all be here before I know it.
We also had some good eats over the weekend cooked by Mr. Man again. Saturday night we had really good ribs, cornbread, and green beans.
It’s been forever since I had ribs. They hit the spot for sure.
Hubby was also feeling up for some dessert, so he made this chocolate pear cake.
Sounds odd, but it’s basically like a chocolately spice cake with pears cooked in. Very good!
I actually had a ton of energy on Sunday, so I got my organization on. I organized our back pantry/storage area, swept and dusted the whole house, did two loads of laundry, and put a ton of stuff away in the basement that was just taking up space upstairs. It felt good.
Hope you have a good week & be safe in this snow if you’re getting any!
