Heyyy! It’s been a lonnnng time since I’ve shared a thing about our weekends around here!
I feel like after a month of being in the house and actually having a mostly free weekend, I had the time to take some pics while we were out an about.
Saturday we went to Liliha Bakery, which is really popular in Honolulu.
I got the big blueberry scone on top and my husband, Claire and sister-in-law had the rest of the goodies. It was good but not sure it was worth all the traffic we went through to get there.
Then we went to a mall and did some shopping. I need a dress for a work party for my husband. I found this gorgeous wine colored long evening gown on sale at Macy’s but they had it in every size but mine 😢 Gotta keep looking, I guess!
Claire had her first jump house experience. The mall had a big room of them and you paid a fee for your kid to jump all day (with you there).
She seemed to love it at first but then after I left to look for dresses, my husband told me she crawled out and just ran around the place the rest of the time. I think she was a little too young to really be into it.
Saturday night we had our second date night out since my SIL moved in. She is the best for babysitting and so so good with Claire. It is such a treat to go out alone – something we really haven’t experienced except in rare cases when our family is around.
We went out to a nice long Italian dinner. I got some spinach ravioli in Alfredo (sooo rich) and hubs got chicken Parmesan. I swear I took a photo of it but I can’t find it anywhere on my phone, so I guess not or I’m crazy. It was good Italian for Hawaii and I’d go back, but nothing beats what we’ve had in Boston.
Sunday my husband and I had a church date, since Claire was napping. I went to a smaller campus of this main church last weekend and liked it. We tried the main campus yesterday and I didn’t like it at all. It was so crazy loud. I really don’t get why all modern nondenominational churches think they have to be like rock concerts 😕 I’m glad we tried it, but we are going to keep looking.
After church we grocery shopped and then made a nice low key dinner. We had this chicken and couscous dish that I keep meaning to share the recipe for.
It’s so flavorful and good! Look for the full recipe on Friday.
Hope you guys have a good Monday!
