Hey! I’m happy to report that I am finally feeling a little more like myself this weekend. This was a hard week, but I’ve had a lot of peace this week.
My mind was so far away from my own little “problems” that I was able to relax and just take a break. I really feel like God was (and has been) calling me to really rest. And now that I have, I can let out a huge sigh of relief.
By the time Friday night arrived, just about the whole area surrounding Boston was on lock down and no one was out. The hubby and I had tickets to go to a beer fest downtown, but it obviously got cancelled. With no other dinner plans and because we were both so exhausted from the week, we wanted food and we wanted it NOW.
This was the result.
Tater tots, Kraft Mac n Cheese, chicken nuggets, and a corn dog? I know. So much for being a healthy living blogger, eh? 😉 But seriously, this never happens.
It was good when we were eating it, but both of us felt horrible afterward. And we both woke up with stomach aches the next day too. I guess sometimes it’s good to have food like this so then you can say, “Let’s never have that again!” and be grateful for healthy foods!
To make up for it, we had this Saturday night.
A little better, right?
One of my organization challenge goals was to do a complete closet clean-out session. What I had in mind for this was to take everything out my closet, try it on, go through it all, and then put it all back, possibly rearranging everything to be more organized.
Well, this week, the motivation just left me. Honestly, all month, organizing has just not been top priority for me, which is pretty weird. Typically, I wish I had more time devoted to organizing. I guess by making it a priority, organizing has become more like a to-do list task, making it unappealing. Spontaneous organizing is definitely more fun or at least it feels less chore-like.
Anyway, I forced myself to take some time on Saturday to clean out my closet. I didn’t end up going through everything as thoroughly as I wanted, but the fact that I did it at all was enough for me.
I went through all my purses. And I just had one thought when I looked at the pile of handbags before me.
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?
I am a purse addict. There. It’s literally out of the closet.
In case you’re wondering how I organize all this in my shared closet, I put the bags in a hanging sweater organizer.
And you can see a little bit of my shirt organization in the bottom of that pic. I organized everything by long sleeves, tank tops, and short sleeves. It was like this before, but just got messy. Now it’s all back to normal.
Before I started going through everything, I thought it would be fun to try to find the ugliest/weirdest thing and the coolest thing in my closet. The ugliest thing I found in my clean-out session are these sweat pants…
Mustard yellow? So not my thing. I put them on and went into the living room to show my husband. But before I could even say anything, he goes, “Oh, those are cute.” Hah! So I decided to keep them for lounging after all.
The coolest thing I found were my wedding shoes.
Someone please tell me it would be okay to wear these again someday with something? They are like my glass slippers! (P.S. Look for a wedding post sometime soon!)
Overall, it was a good clean out and amazingly, I am getting rid of all of this!
The fact that I actually have a pile of stuff I am willing to get rid of is a miracle. I typically talk myself into keeping everything or make up some reason for needing that belt I never, ever wear.
Hope you had a good weekend!
