To say today has caught up with me is an understatement. Almost 6 pm and I am just now blogging? Yeah, I’ve been a little busy. Let’s start with the…
I didn’t catch many photos of my weekend, but I’ll tell you it was a busy one! This is probably one of the busiest summers ever for me – tons of events, socializing, and things to do. My calendar is always piling up, and I’ve hardly had a weekend “free” in a while.
On Saturday, I was excited to do my very first Mary Kay customer appreciation event at Old Navy. Old Navy is a partner of Mary Kay’s and lets consultants use the store to promote their business. It was pretty successful, a great learning experience, and I booked 2 parties on the spot!
This was a great experience, one I am definitely looking forward to doing again!
Although it was a fun weekend with my event, a friend’s birthday party, and another party on Sunday – the weekend left me wiped! My house is still kind of a disaster. We had no food, so I did the most mega-shopping trip today that I’ve done in a while.
To treat myself after a bunch of errands, I thought I’d make some banana bread with some seriously ripe bananas. I follow a recipe from a Williams Sonoma cookbook that looked amazing. It was, except the recipe lied to me!
Everything about this loaf of banana bread is perfect, except that it’s definitely overcooked. See all the crumbs everywhere? It’s sooo dry. The recipe said to cook it for an hour. I only cooked it for 45 minutes and it was definitely already overcooked. Whyyy?!
Guess I’ll just have to slap a bunch of butter on it. Oh, darn 😉
I realize I haven’t said much about my training lately for my half-marathon that’s less than 2 weeks away! And that’s because I haven’t been doing much training :-/
It’s honestly been so incredibly hot and humid that my desire to get out and run has actually been totally gone some days. Run in crazy freaking hot weather with humidity & bugs on my run?
I’m so incredibly thankful that this week is going to be a little cooler and even rainy. I’d honestly rather run in the pouring rain than in high heat/humidity any day. I’m hoping to be really disciplined with my schedule until the half, which is on August 3rd. Annnd, I’m hoping and praying it’s not crazy hot on race day!
Well, I should really finish cleaning my apartment, make some dinner, and finish a book I’m reading for a book club! See ya!
