In case you missed it, I’m conducting a reader survey right now. If you have two minutes and want to give me some feedback, I’d appreciate it. It’s only 10 multiple choice questions 🙂
I’ve already gotten quite a few responses and the one thing ALL respondents want to see more of? Every day life posts. I juuuust posted about how I stopped blogging about this. But I guess that is just not going to fly, is it? I will say, I’ve been really comfortable not blogging about my actual life because this has just been a hard past couple of months. And maybe now I feel like I’m in a better place in life to start actually sharing more about it. So here you go!
Valentine’s Day Celebrating
Hubs and I are not big Valentine’s Day people. I was honestly expecting nothing so the fact that we did anything is more than enough to make me happy.
Claire gave my husband a handmade card that, let me tell you, was very hard to make! We all had chocolate chip pancakes and Claire tried pancakes for the first time (not chocolate chip) as a Valentine’s Day treat.
I also got a handmade card.
How… lovely, right? 😀 Apparently it is a tracing of Claire’s body, her hand print, and one of Beans’ footprints (in blue). This is just so my husband. And I love it.
It was a really nice day out, so we went on a family walk. Walks along the river in town have been my thing daily lately. I know all you North East people are going to hate me but it was about 75 degrees and just perfect.
Then we went out to dinner at a place we had a been a few times and was really good. This time did not disappoint either.
I went all out and got two drinks – a pineapple margarita and red sangria and the filet minion. I never do this. So it was a real treat!
We were out wayyy past Claire’s bedtime too since the restaurant had a wait, but she did amazing and just ate and talked the whole time, so that was nice. Overall, it was a really nice low key day.
I finally knocked some things off my blog to do list. I updated my head shot over the weekend (thanks hubby!) since I was using a random photo with Claire in it that I never really meant to be a head shot.
Not bad for just being in my backyard, right?
The sidebar was also updated to include my most blogged about topics by category (see –>) so readers can find posts easier and they hopefully don’t all die in the archives graveyard. I also realize I change random design pieces of my blog a lot. I am going to try to stick with this layout and not keeping changing anything for a while.
I also finally got around to utilizing my theme’s recipes index page. Now the recipes are easier to find, much more organized, and I never have to update a recipes page again as they will auto appear there when I tag them. But I doubt anyone cares about that since a lot of people responded to my survey that they wanted to see less recipes on here 😉
Questions for You:
- Should I throw in these type of life posts once a week or so?
- How did you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
