Good morning, peeps!
I feel like it’s been a while since I blogged about anything going on in my actual life. So today, you get random life ramblings 😉
Right now, my life has been 1) quite busy and 2) focused on Mary Kay. I really hate using the term “very busy” because it just seems like a cop-out way of saying “I have no idea what I’m doing all the time, so I’ll just say I’m busy.” But I’ve been feeling it all summer, that life is just crazy-non-stop busy. I’m not making it up, people!
Last weekend went something like this: had Mary Kay party Friday, got home really late, slept in Saturday (and didn’t do my long run again), sort of chilled out Saturday but did some work stuff, basically sat around from exhaustion, went to church with some friends Sunday, had a cookout after church, cleaned the apartment & went shopping, had friends over for dinner, went out to ice cream, cleaned the exploded kitchen for an hour, crashed in bed. Cue, Monday!
I basically have no idea where my weekend went. Again. And yesterday was one of those Monday’s that I’m like, really? It’s Monday?
But I survived!
Anyway, I’ve really been meaning to catch you all up on what’s been going on with Mary Kay. I want to address all the details in a separate post, but a quick synopsis version is…
I’m getting the hang of working my business! July has been my first “full-time” month dedicated to MK. I definitely see the difference in my work this month. Adjusting to working at home has been the biggest challenge of all, but it’s also been to biggest reward as well. Right now, I feel like I’m really starting to see that I want MK to be so much more for me, and I have all the resources to move my business in a new direction. I’m definitely learning a lot, having fun throwing some parties, and am ready to make some bigger goals soon.
And last but not least – I gotta say something about running here. The past couple weeks of running have been so off for me. And I’m kind of just in this “whatever” mindset about my race this Saturday. I know I will finish. I know it’ll go okay. But I just haven’t had the desire to run.
I think part of it is because running in so much heat for a while there really left a bad taste in my mouth. I just started associating running with being extremely hot, sweaty, and mildly frustrated instead of feeling relaxed, refreshed, & strong from it.
Another piece that’s throwing off my mojo now is that I just signed up for the B.A.A. Half Marathon last week, but then found out just a few days later that I won’t be able to make it. I was really excited to run that half again, as it was my first, and was hoping for a PR there. The weather will just be much better conditions than this half on Saturday, so I was looking forward to it a lot more. But now that’s out the window.
So, I’m raceless after Saturday, which feels weird. Obviously I’m already looking into other races, because I really need races to motivate me to stick to running. But I’m not really sure what I want to do yet.
If you or anyone you know would like my bib for the B.A.A. half, email me at freeing imperfections at gmail dot com. The race is October 13th. Bib is $65.
Speaking of running, I’ve got a date in the woods for 5 miles. See ya!
