Hi, friends. Yes, I’m still pregnant. Should I just start every post like that until I pop? 😉
Thank you guys for the comments & love on last week’s post about my pregnancy. I’m really glad I decided to open up about that one. You guys always know what to say!
I thought I’d link up with Becky today for Treat Yourself Tuesday. I spent all yesterday treating myself. I was like “I should do a ‘treat myself’ post. Isn’t there a series on that?” Yeah, duh!
Long story short – I had my last scheduled OB appointment yesterday morning. And it was very uneventful.
I was a little surprised that although I’m showing signs of progress & like I could go into labor any minute, my midwife has not mentioned anything about helping me along or given me any advice. She simply said to make another appointment for next week. I’ll be 40 weeks & 4 days if I go to that appointment next week. I was disappointed that even though I have just about reached what I thought would be the end of pregnancy, there is still no real end in sight…
So, I took to treating myself because I had to do something! First, I started with getting a scone, croissant, & coffee at my favorite bakery down the street.
I didn’t take a picture, but here’s a recycled one of the same thing 🙂
Then I went on a little shopping spree at Kohl’s because I had some Kohl’s cash & a gift card. I figure at this point, it’s okay to be buying baby clothes and surprisingly, I hardly got any from my showers, so I actually need more.
I had been eyeing this dress & sweater set for months. In mint green. Duh. So cute! Also got bibs that match the dress & some other onesies I have.
And I couldn’t help but pick something up for me. I got these sandals and a grey & white striped maxi skirt in honor of spring actually arriving.
And then because it was 72 degrees out & I happened to have a dollar while I was passing McDonald’s…
I got an ice cream cone. But sadness: they no longer do chocolate dipped cones! Looks like I have to go to Dairy Queen for that (although I’ve always thought there’s were better anyway).
Then when I got home since the weather was amazing, I took Beans for a nice long walk. I ended up having to go pretty slow toward the end, but we made it.
It was nice to have such a beautiful day & just focus on taking care of myself, since I know these type of days are numbered! All this was a good distraction from my discouraging appointment. Let’s hope I don’t make it to the appointment next week!
