Hey friends! I hope your Christmas was fantastic!
Spending Christmas with my husband’s family is the best time. We had so much fun, but it all went by so fast! I can’t believe that Christmas and my vacation are already almost over.
Christmas morning started with a 4 miler out in the woods.
It was a good run, but it was quite warm and I didn’t know, so I was sweltering the whole run. Nothing beats running out here though.
After that, we all pretty much layed around all day and waited for dinner. To coordinate with the whole family this year, the only time we could open gifts together was later in the day. We did an early dinner before gifts – kind of like Thanksgiving again, and so good.
After dinner, we all gathered around to open presents. I just love watching people open gifts & receive things that make them happy.
My in-laws never fail to disappoint me around Christmas, either. I think my mother-in-law is a better shopper for me than I am. She got me so many things I just adored in this gift basket.
Beans was quite comfy in his Christmas pajamas & Santa hat.
He got no shortage of attention in that outfit! 😉
My two weeks here seriously flew by so fast, but it was very enjoyable. My mindset totally changes when I’m here – away from the big city – to a slower, not-a-care-in-the-world pace. It’s been so nice to leave work, chores, and cooking behind for a while. But at the same time, I am excited to get back home.
A few thing I’m looking forward to when I get back are…
- Spending New Year’s Eve with some friends
- We decided not to renew the lease on our apartment so we are going to start apartment hunting when we get back!
- Getting back into a routine & focusing on clean eating in the New Year
Catch ya back in Boston!
