I really don’t know how we’re already here at one month old already! I’m hoping to not sound like a broken record every month about her getting older, but don’t say I didn’t warn you!
I’m documenting Stella’s first year with some cute milestone cards I got at Target. They have all kinds of things like first smile, first time they took a bath, laughed, etc. It started out with weekly photos but after the first month moves onto monthly thank goodness!
Fun fact: Stella was born with a tooth!
Not a real tooth, but what they call a natal tooth. They don’t really have any roots. Hers was very wiggly and already starting to look red around the gums from how much it was moving around. We had to get it pulled, but she did great and it healed nicely.
Apparently, it’s pretty rare. Both the nurses in the hospital and the pediatric dentist we took her to said they hadn’t seen one ever or in years. Crazy! I asked and it doesn’t mean she is going to teethe early though, thank goodness!
Two weeks and her first Easter!
Slowing started to like the binky some this week, although she isn’t into soothie pacis but likes Tommy Tippee ones.
I have no idea what she weighs, but she’s busting out of newborn size clothes already (faster than big sister did! sadness).
I just moved her up to mostly 0-3 month size clothes, so I was able to put her in this adorable Miami Zoo Romper. Thanks to Finn + Emma for generously giving us the romper, a matching blanket, and cute bandana bib.
Now that she’s outgrown newborn size diapers too, we’ve moved to our cloth diapers.
The romper is plenty roomy enough for that big fluff butt! Something hard to come by in traditional onesies.
In her first month of life, she has…
- gone to the beach probably 4 or 5 times! –> I never would have done this with Claire that early, but when in Hawaii, hah!
- gone to the zoo, Waikiki, North Shore, & been on a hike to a waterfall
- had two doctor’s appointments and all looks well
- stayed overnight with grandma & grandpa only!
- takes a bottle with no fuss
Stella has definitely been a better sleeper and eater. The first two weeks all she really did was sleep and eat very efficiently and I wondered what was wrong with her!
She is starting to get a little more fussy these days, but her first month was overall a lot easier than I remember. Maybe because it’s not my first time doing this, but I do think she’s a very relaxed and easy going baby. I love her so!
Just for fun, here’s a flash back of Claire’s 1 month update! Gosh, that seems like forever ago now!
Questions for You:
- Does anyone else cry when they put the newborn clothes away?! It’s super sad to me because I think it’s the last time!
- Who do you think Stella looks like? So far we get dad mostly!
