This morning was one of those mornings where I had about zero energy to make breakfast. Call me pathetic, but sometimes making breakfast is the hardest thing to do in the early morning hours. Thankfully, this is where meal planning ahead of time really helps me out.
I made a smoothie and had it do all the work for me.
Pineapple Mango Green Smoothie
Into the blender went:
- Trader Joe’s frozen mango chunks
- 3/4 cup fresh pineapple
- handful of fresh spinach
- dash of chia seeds
- 1/2 cup almond milk
It was very sweet with no sweetener and very fruity. Not bad with a piece of toast on the side too.
Since February, I’ve been consistently working out 5-6 days a week aiming to run 3x, strength train 2-3x, do other cardio 2x, & do core work 2x. I really like this routine, so I’m just going to stick with it until half-marathon training in May.
Even though I’m following the same basic pattern, I still like to switch up my actual workouts all the time. I was in the market for a more challenging workout for strength training/cardio days, so I came up with this workout.
The workout focuses on legs & arms – areas I am definitely looking to tone up before summer.
I really like killing two birds with one stone and doing cardio intervals in between strength moves. It gets my heart going and I don’t have to go down to the gym for cardio after strength.
I know the workout graphic is all pretty, but trust me, this workout is not all roses! After this, I am sweatttty!
