Thank you all so much for the warm wishes on Claire’s arrival! I can’t believe it’s already been a week since I had her! Time is already flying by.
Hubs gets some paternity leave so we’ve been enjoying time as a family at home. We left the hospital after two days & spent our first night home on Friday. So far, it’s been going really well.
Yes, we’re quite sleepless, but it’s very exciting to get to know our daughter. We’re both absolutely in love with her.
Her birth was great. I’m going to share her birth story as soon I can get around to writing it out. My birth plan went exactly as I wanted (which I didn’t expect!), it was relatively short labor, & I did it naturally. I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience.
She had her first doctors appointment Monday & is doing really well. She barely lost any weight before we went home & already gained most of it back. She looked like she might be a tad jaundiced the other day but we got her levels checked & she’s not. I’m so happy & thankful she is healthy.
Beans is taking to it all quite well. The initial meeting didn’t go too great (he growled some), but after a few hours he became extremely curious. He just wants to lick & sniff her all over. He’s always right there any time we’re doing something with her.
Honestly guys, I’m absolutely floored by motherhood. I can’t believe this perfect little girl is mine. I knew I’d be happy, but I feel like now I really know the meaning of love.
Blogging is definitely the last thing on my mind these days (and I wrote this whole post on my phone while breastfeeding!), so bear with me. I just want to soak up all the time I can with her while we all adjust, but I’ll get on some kind of schedule again someday.
