What a glorious weekend! Not only was it Easter, but I got a ton done and the weather was gorgeous! Still not super warm, but it’s definitely warmer and feeling springy.
Friday night we just stayed in. The hubby was away on a trip all week, so it was nice to just hang out and reconnect. Saturday was a very productive but fun day at the same time.
I started off with my last long run before the Providence Marathon, which is just surreal to me. I did about 11 miles along the Charles. This view just never gets old.
I actually wasn’t in the mood to run at all and was kind of dreading it, but it was such a beautiful day out so that helped. My body is definitely tired, but I felt fine after this run, so it’s all good.
When I got home from my run, the hubby told me to go look in the office. I found it pretty strange, since I didn’t know why, but I came to find this awesome chair in our office.
He found it on the sidewalk a few houses up. I guess they were getting rid of it. I’ve been saying how I’ve wanted a new chair for the office, so here we go! It looks like something that came straight out of a college library, though, doesn’t it? Either way, it’s mine and I’ve deemed it the new blogging chair 🙂
After that, it was serious errand time. We were out of everything and had a lot to catch up on. We grabbed a quick lunch at a deli across the way from us and got really fresh sandwiches and really good soda.
We went to Trader Joe’s, Home Depot, and a couple other places before heading home. Once we got home, we cleaned up the house, started making dinner and hung up this shelf we got at IKEA last weekend.
Notice anything funny about it? Like, how crooked it looks? Well, the shelf is perfectly level, but I guess the floor is really sloped in, so it makes it look crooked. It’s way worse in person. But now I have a place to put our laundry stuff 🙂
For dinner, we had a serious guac party. Let’s just say, if my hubby is going to make guacamole, it’s quite the big to-do. Below, the guac making station.
And now we can munch on this guac for days, if it lasts that long!
Sunday started out nice and early so we could make it to the 9 am service at my church. We went with a few coworkers/friends of ours. My church was doing baptisms on Easter Sunday, which was really neat.
But they were also offering it to anyone who came. They had prepared bags of new clothes to get baptized in so people didn’t have to get wet in their Easter best. As we were standing in service, my friend asked me if she should go. I was, of course, ecstatic and told her yes!
She got baptized right in front of me! It was the coolest thing. Afterward (she is in the middle)
I’m so proud of her for taking the plunge (literally!). It was her first time at my church, but I’m certain it won’t be the last. It was a really amazing answer to prayer and awesome gift on Easter.
After that, we had brunch at my house: traditional aebleskiver, eggs, and sausage. Soooo good.
After that, we took Beans to the dog park, just chilled in our PJ’s and had a nice evening in. Not too shabby!
Questions for You:
- Did you see anyone get baptized this weekend? Have you ever? It’s a pretty cool experience!
- If you celebrate it, how did you celebrate Easter?
