Happy Friday! Friday’s just make me so happy because it’s almost the weekend!
Earlier this week, I had the chance to meet up with a good friend of mine while she was on a business trip. Her and I have been friends since 4th grade! She is without a doubt one of my longest best friends, but also one that never fails to keep in touch, regardless of distance. Aka, an awesome friend 🙂 We’re the kind of friends that, when we get together even after a year of not seeing each other, it’s like no time has passed at all and we’re still the best of friends. I love that 🙂
So, to treat my awesome friend (as she will now be called), I took her to my favorite ever pizza place called Ducali Pizzeria. They get all of their ingredients fresh from a farmers market and make out-of-this-world food. We started with some italian nachos:
Normally this is my favorite appetizer ever. Unfortunately, the restaurant had changed the recipe a little and it now includes jalapeno and banana peppers, making it SUPER spicy, which none of us knew. The jalapenos were red ones (aka extra hot), but we thought they looked like tomatoes so we ate them… WHOA mouth on fire hotness! I thought they were still good, just have to avoid the peppers next time.
Then we got a pizza with mozzarella, spinach, olive oil, and garlic & my favorite ever calzone with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, sausage, and mushrooms. Amazing!
And because the calzone was just so good, check out the gooey delicious inside:
After that, we were stuffed!
Regardless of being beyond full from so much pizza, we headed over to the ever famous Mike’s Pastry for some dessert. They have about a million things to choose from and awesome friend easily decided she would have liked five different desserts. We both settled for just one though, as they’re way huge in size. I got a chocolate chip cookie with some hot chocolate and she got a caramel pecan cannoli, which was so good.
Way stuffed beyond reason? Yes. Awesome time catching up with awesome friend? Totally. Worth every calorie in my opinion! I was sad to say goodbye, but before we parted she gave me a little gift of this awesome Colorado t-shirt (where we’re both from), a coffee mug, and a gift for Beans. TOO SWEET!
Here’s to a happy Friday and an awesome weekend!
- Question for you: Do you have a friend that, no matter the distance or time spent apart, it always seems like you’re right where you left off? And what’s your favorite type of pizza?
