Since becoming a mom, putting on makeup and keeping up with beauty stuff has not been a top priority. But now that I’m getting my bearings on this thing called motherhood, I’m trying to venture back into the beauty scene.
When I stayed with my in-laws over the summer, my sister-in-law & I went shopping at a cosmetology store. She’s a hairdresser, so she gets products for a great discount at specialty beauty supply stores. I kind of went nuts stocking up on stuff because I could get things so cheap!
Here’s some beauty products I’ve been lovin’ on lately.
TIGI Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo
Some of you know I’m a low-poo kind of person. I wash my hair about as little as possible, maybe twice a week. I loooove dry shampoos. This is definitely one of the better ones I’ve tried. It has a light lemony scent and really gives my hair some much needed volume after a workout or being slept on. I would definitely buy again.
Hempz Lotion in Fresh Coconut & Watermelon
I bought this because it smells like a Jolly Rancher. I don’t necessarily want to smell like a Jolly Rancher, but this stuff does smell pretty good on. It’s not the most hydrating, but it’s good for every day use in a normal climate.
OPI nail laquer in “Taupeless Beach”
This is a polish my MIL let me borrow. It’s a really nice greyish purple that basically goes with everything. Since I’m too lazy to change my pedicure but more than once a month, I like that this stuff goes with everything and stays put for that long too.
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Moisturizing Shampoo + Conditioner
I’ve tried this brand before and wasn’t super impressed, but I am loving this shampoo. I have a hard time finding shampoo I actually like & that works well for my frizzy, wavy hair. My hair naturally tries to go for that “beachy” look every day. I can not even use product with this shampoo and get a nice beach wave to it with just air drying. LOVE. The shampoo is also really thick + creamy, which I love. None of that watery crap.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (in black)
I am a mascara junkie. I don’t buy cheap mascara anymore because yes – I have deemed that spending $24 on mascara is somehow worth it. This stuff rocks. It looks like you’re wearing false lashes almost but not quite that dramatic. This stuff is black. And it’s a little hard to remove in my opinion without a good makeup remover. Will definitely buy again.
And there you have it! I really hope to share about beauty more in the future. I’ve always had an interest in makeup & love doing my makeup. I just signed up for BirchBox too, so hopefully I’ll have some more fun things to review 🙂
