I’m heading out for my road trip now, but I’ve got something fun to share with you before I go. Last week I received some marathon socks from PRO Compression to try out. I have admittedly been eyeing these socks for ages now to help out my sore calves after lots of running.
I run using my calf muscles more than “normal.” Not really sure why, but that’s what I was told at a gait analysis. I’ve tried to change the way I run to use my thighs more and let gravity take control, but I always seem to run the same. Needless to say, my calves get sore the fastest and the most out of all my muscles after a run.
Sidenote: as soon as I tried to snap a shot of me wearing the socks, this little dude got in my way.

PRO Compression Review
As soon as I got my socks, I put them on right away even though I wasn’t recovering from a run or anything. Immediately, I could feel a difference. My legs and feet just felt better. They’re super comfy just to hang out in around the house and chill out.
The next day, I went on a 5 mile run to see how they would do. Firstly, let me say that the second I walked out the door some guy asked me if I played soccer. “No, I’m a runner…” I said. I’m sure he had no idea what the socks were for! Ha!
The 5 miles went great, and I can honestly say that they didn’t move an inch. At times I felt like they were sliding down, and I’d check them, but they seriously hadn’t budged. These babies are TIGHT.
During my run, I felt little to no calf pain. I felt like my legs were more energized. I even wanted to quit at mile 3 but decided to go for 5 instead. Was it the socks? I’ll never know 😉
Note about sizing: I was recommended to get a size S/M. I wear a regular shoe size 7 and running shoe size 7.5. PRO Compression said that size 7 is right in between the XS and S/M. I can see why because I do have some extra material around the foot part. But I’m really glad I went with the S/M because I would not want it to be any tighter around my calf.
My favorite part was hanging out in these after my run. I felt like these socks just cradle my muscles and keep them from becoming sore. I never wanted to take them off, they felt so good!
