Today was one of those days where I knew I had a ton to do, but I forgot to make out a schedule for it. I woke up wanting to rush into everything all at once, which really just makes me way less productive in the end. It was also almost 100 degrees in Boston today, so the heat really slowed me down too.
I did get some of the things on my to do list done, but I still feel pretty overwhelmed. I’ve got a lot of Mary Kay clients I’m trying to organize meeting with. I’m also having a Mary Kay open house on Saturday for some of my friends & acquaintances, so I’m getting geared up for that. Overall, Mary Kay is an awesome business because I can go at my own pace and I don’t have to “work” a set shift. But I also have so much freedom & am a new business owner that I’m very much still figuring out what I’m doing.
With all that going on, we also have a new friend visiting for the week. Meet Dottie!
She’s one of my friend’s Whippets. Beans loves the company and having a playmate around that isn’t me for a change. 😉
It’s really fun to see the two of them together since they are essentially the same, just different sizes. They both have the same tendencies and mannerisms, but the more I am around them both, the more they actually seem quite different. Maybe it’s just because Beans still has so much puppy in him and is crazy.
Although both of them are fast, they are two of the biggest couch potatoes I’ve ever seen. What we did all afternoon?
Sleeeeeep. Not a bad choice, actually. They may be onto something…
After a pretty lazy afternoon, it was time to try a new recipe for dinner. Today was the hubby’s pick for a recipe, which he made. He picked out a blackened fish recipe, but we decided to grill it instead, so it wasn’t really blackened.
It turned out SO good, though. Normally, I am not much of a fish person, but this was fantastic. It was Tilapia with creole seasoning all over. Very tasty. We had some rice pilaf and Italian green beans on the side. Healthy & filling 🙂
And since it’s technically the weekend now, the hubby decided to turn tonight into a real date night with a trip to our favorite ice cream shop. He said, I quote, “It’s not date night without dessert!” Oh, what a smart cookie he is. 🙂
What I don’t get about this ice cream place we go to, though, is that every time, they give us a way bigger portion than we ask/pay for. We both asked for the same size. Mine is the one on the right…
More peanut butter oreo ice cream with chocolate shell on top? I guess I won’t complain 😉
I probably won’t be checking in tomorrow, so I hope you all have a happy 4th!
