I’ve only ever done one of these posts before, but I decided they need to happen more often.
Since compiling some of my reader survey results, I decided that this type of post and Coffee Date posts need to make a come back for more of that “real life” element. Right now blogging about my day-to-day isn’t the most interesting for me (not a lot going on over here!), but I think these two types of posts will help give some more every day life info.
So, what I’m I loving lately?
Can we just talk about how awesome it is to live somewhere that is not the North East or Colorado for winter right now? Truly, I love snow but after last winter in Boston, I am not missing it onnnnne bit.
Daily walks are my jam in flip flops. It’s been about 75 degrees on average here. However, I guess that isn’t typical for West Texas, so yay for a randomly warm winter.
So Delicious French Vanilla coconut milk creamer
I admit that I am not a huge creamer person. I can totally drink coffee black and prefer it that way sometimes. But using creamer, even the littlest bit, makes my coffee seem fancy and like I’m getting Starbucks. So by buying a $2 creamer, I am saving a lot of moolah by not having to go to Starbucks 🙂
Also LOVE that it does not have carrageenan (it even says so on the carton). Now I can pretend it’s healthy 😉
Pottery Barn Kids Mini Backpack
I used my diaper bag as an all in one bag/purse. So since C was born, it has been no real purse for me. I am just kind of over this. Now that I leave her at the Y, at a Bible study day care and at MOPs, I didn’t want to leave my diaper bag there and then have no bag with me. I was trying to leave her places and then hold my phone, keys, water bottle, etc. and dropping everything so I was like this is not working anymore.
I found this cute backpack for her instead.
HOW freaking adorable? I’m totally in love with the bright colors and pineapples! I put Sophie in there for a size reference. It’s small, but actually holds just the right amount of stuff – a few diapers, wipes, a bib, bottle, snacks, & a backup onesie. And now that she has this, I have a legit purse again. I’m a new woman 😛
Funny story: I asked my husband about his thoughts on using the backpack + purse combo (because he should totally care about this, right? Haha). And he was like “I don’t know, babe. She can’t even walk yet,” meaning he didn’t think she could wear the backpack. I think it’ll be a while before she can wear it for sure, but maybe someday 😉
Using a planner
It is literally saving my butt right now as a SAHM.
It helps me focus, realize what I am actually doing during the week and day. I put all my weekly engagements, workouts, meal planning, to do lists, and blog ideas in here. I could carry it around all day. It just keeps me on track.
Keeping up with my house
This might be kind of a weird one, but I feel like I have a really good groove right now of keeping up on the house. It’s one of the areas I’m feeling most accomplished in lately.
My house is far from perfect, but I do make my bed every day.
Between laundry, cloth diapers, hand washing dishes and bottles, and just regular cleaning like sweeping the floor/cleaning the bathrooms – it’s a lot sometimes. When we first moved here, I really let the house stuff slide because I wasn’t sleeping and I really disliked our house. But now that we’ve been here for a while, it does feel like home and I actually want to stay on top of it.
