Hey guys! What a great day it is to be in Boston 🙂
This morning for my run, I couldn’t wait to show my Boston Strong pride with my Sparkly Soul headband and a ribbon. Blue & Gold!
3 miles done this morning & 13.1 for the week! #milesforBoston!
Anyway, since I’ve been enjoying my Sparkly Soul headbands for a while now, I thought it was about time I gave them a thorough review. Before I got these headbands, I was in serious need of a headband that actually stayed in place. I heard so many great reviews about these headbands. And long story short, they are awesome.
I have thin headbands in white and lavender and a thick headband in teal.
What I Like
The sparkliness of these headbands is no joke. I wish I could photograph it better, but the white headband is ridiculously sparkly and iridescent. It’s awesome!
The inside of the headbands are lined with velvety material, which is what helps them stay in place so well. Yes, it actually works. I feel like they stay put very well.
The quality of the headbands is great. These are not cheaply made or poor quality at all. They seem durable and like they will last a long time.
They come in so many colors. When I won the headband from the giveaway, it took me about an hour to decide what color I wanted. I love that they have so many options.
I also love that they are sparkly all the way around. There is no weird elastic thing in the back like a lot of sports headbands. It’s 100% sparkle all around. I feel that because it’s the same type of band all the way around, it also stays a lot better than if it were elastic for part of the way around.
What Could Be Better
The tags. I don’t really get why the tags are attached the way they are… You can see it from the first photo on the teal headband that the tag does not lay flat. I wish the tag was completely sown down so it laid flat instead of puckering up. Even though it bugs me, the tag doesn’t actually get in the way or feel bothersome.
Although many people claim these headbands do not give them a headache, they give me a headache. If I just wear them for a run and then take them off, I’m okay. I do like to wear these for more than just working out, though. Whenever I wear them out or to work for the whole day, I definitely have a headache after more than about 3 hours.
Also, I feel the thick headband is tighter than the thin ones. When I first got the thick one, I wasn’t sure if I could even wear it. But after wearing it a few times, it did stretch out enough to be wearable.
I wear headbands when I workout all the time, but I have never gotten a worse headband dent in my hair than I have from these. The headbands stay in place, but in return, they leave a lovely “hair dent” that doesn’t really go away. Obviously, that’s bound to happen. It’s just a lot worse than I realized.
Thick or Thin?
Before I ordered mine, I was confused whether I would like the thick or thin. After trying both, I like the thick band better. The thick one leaves less of a dent in my hair, and since it’s thicker, there’s more sparkle!
Here’s a little side by side comparison for ya…
I just feel like the thick one has a little more “umph” to it. It’s not that much thicker than the thin one and the look just appeals to me more.
My overall experience with Sparkly Soul headbands has been awesome. I get a lot of compliments on them. They’re great for workouts & wearing out (for short periods of time). I definitely think they are worth the money and they DO stay in place. I love looking put together and cute for my workouts, and Sparkly Soul definitely adds that extra touch.
A Great Company
Sparkly Soul is also a very generous company. When I ordered mine, I saved 20% off my order & 20% of my order was donated to the HAPPY 5K Race for Leukemia & Lymphoma research.
Right now, Sparkly Soul is donating 20% of all proceeds of Blue, Gold or Blue/Gold Striped Boston Strong headbands purchased to The One Fund for Boston until May 15th.
So if you’re in the market for a new headband or just want to show some Boston pride, now’s the time!
