I’m thankful to SweatPink and Manitoba Harvest for providing me with tasty, healthy snack bars for review!
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart bars are crafted with the goodness of hemp and other tasty ingredients. They offer three different delicious flavors to choose from: vanilla, chocolate and apple cinnamon.
Each 45 gram bar contains 10 grams of plant-based protein and 10 grams of omegas, so whether you grab one for a pre-workout snack or nutrition on the go, these convenient bars are sure to get you through even your busiest day!
Claire and I went on a walk the other day – daily walks are our jam! I had already done a pretty intense strength workout at the gym earlier and knew I’d get hungry mid-walk so I threw a bar in my bag.
We stopped on a bench so I could have my snack. I tried the chocolate bar. It was good but I definitely liked the apple cinnamon flavor better, which I had as a post-workout snack at the gym the day before.
However, little miss Claire got sight of my snack and wanted in too. I didn’t think she’d like it, but she gobbled it right up! She actually ate about half my bar.
I was really surprised!
Manitoba Harvest does not advertise their bars as baby food, but I feel comfortable feeding Claire anything I am eating these days too. They are very soft and were really easy for her to mash with her gums no problem. And if I’m going to feed her any snack bar, I’d rather it be a low-sugar, high protein one any day.
I thought these would be really seedy and get seeds all in my teeth since they are hemp seeds but they didn’t get stuck or make a mess at all. They are very soft and a little chewy. Overall, this was a lasting snack for me. Often times snack bars do not fill me up and I find myself reaching for another snack shortly after. I was able to eat just this as my snack and wait until dinner until eating again, though.
I don’t think I’d want to try the chocolate one again, but I’d get some more apple cinnamon for sure. And I’d love to try the vanilla one, which I didn’t get to sample.
