Reading // All The Light We Cannot See, still
These currently posts are really putting me to shame because I’ve been working on the same book for months now. Oh well. It is 500 pages. The fact that I am still reading it here and there is better than nothing to me though. Reading is definitely on the back burner right now!
Loving // That I finally lost some weight!
I started using MyFitnessPal about two weeks ago to track my food. I didn’t set a super low calorie goal or even try to make sure I was “under” my goal every day since I’m nursing. I do not want to screw that up! I think just being mindful of what I eat and making sure I’m not eating 3,000 calories a day and way overeating has helped. I still don’t really see/feel a difference from the five pounds I lost, but it’s a start so I’ll take it!
Not Loving // That this summer is going by wicked fast. How is Claire two and a half months old and it’s July already? Seriously.
I also don’t feel like the weather has been summery. It has just never “felt” like summer yet, even though we’ve had plenty of warm days. I don’t get it. Maybe my mom brain is just not with it or something.
Craving // My mom’s banana bread.
I think I just might make some this week since I keep letting my bananas get really soft.
Needing // A Date night with my hubby again! We left Claire with his parents when they were out and that was when she was six weeks old.
We have one friend who offered to babysit that we definitely trust (and she’s a nurse). So hopefully it will happen soon! It’s definitely a lot harder to just go out when you don’t have family or someone you super, super trust to watch your little baby.
Happy about // Finishing Ripped in 30! (By the end of this week, anyway) I started this last month. I did this in 5 weeks instead of 4 since we were on the road for a week. Because I was so busy last month, I only did the workout 4-5 times a week plus some walking/running thrown in. You’re supposed to do it 5-6 times a week. I really only ate healthy for two weeks of that too.
So I didn’t see totally amazing results from this or anything, but it did help me get back into a morning workout routine where I am no longer dreading workouts. And I was definitely really sore for most of the month, so I’m pretty sure it did something!
Scared to // Run a 9k! I got a last minute bib to Run to Home Base, which is a race that finishes on Fenway Park.
I really, really wanted to run just one more race here before we leave Boston so I’m really glad I have the opportunity to do this. But I am scared because I ran 2.5 miles the other night and it felt so hard! Now I have to double that! I know I can do it though. My workouts this month will be running 3x a week and other Jillian strength videos 2-3x a week. I’m excited for my “normal” routine to resume.
Putting off // Anything to do with our move. We actually bumped our departure date up a week, so now we’re moving even sooner: at the end of this month. It’s totally surreal to me that our time in Boston is coming to an end. We really need to get organized and think about the logistics of the move but I just don’t want to!
Looking forward to // Our going away party at the end of the month. One last hurrah! We’re having a simple barbecue with our local friends to bid us goodbye. It’ll be bittersweet, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.
