Well, hey there! It’s only been forever so let’s catch up a bit.
I’ve been at my in-laws for the past two months. It’s been nice to have a break from work, all my usual chores, & the heat (and uhh false missile warnings) of Hawaii. I’m definitely feeling ready to go back home and hopefully get into a routine soon though.
As I was writing out some goals, I thought blogging about them or just life in general would help me some. So here’s what’s current with me.
Reading // I just read Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand. That was cute and a very quick read. I will definitely read the other three books in that series.
I’m also reading Uninvited by Lysa TerKerst. And like all her books, it’s really, really good.
Drinking // ALL. The. Coffee. The cold definitely makes me want to drink more coffee. What’s sad is I can drink a bunch and barely feel a jolt of energy! Ugh, mom life.
Listening to // Vance Joy, Shawn Colvin, Coldplay, & whatever else pops up on my Spotify. I got Spotify premium and have no regrets.
Wearing // I barely brought any clothes here. It’s been nice to be so minimal, actually. I wear a lot of comfy workout clothes. Surprisingly, most of what I brought is black or grey, so I’ve felt a little drab. But at least it all matches!
Loving // That I had a real winter. I am definitely definitely not a heat person. Am I excited to go back to the beach soon and have it be warm in February? Sure. But I really am just made for the cold and am so irritated in the heat!
I think there is something so magical about a winter landscape too.
Craving // Routine. I haven’t really been in a real routine in a lonnnnng time. It took us all much longer to adjust to the time difference and living here than I thought.
Claire completely stopped napping once we got here too, so that’s been rough. She’s had maybe five real naps and a few random short ones in the car or on the couch since we got here. I’m really hoping she’s not totally done napping and it was just because we were out of our normal routine. But she will be three this year, so I have no idea.
I have big hopes to get us all on a good schedule when we’re back home soon for all our sake.
Wanting // This year to really be my year. Last year honestly just sucked for me and was so inconsistent. I just struggled so much. I am so ready to turn over to a new season and feel empowered to make change and start working on things I really want.
Needing // To practice the art of saying no. To really get what I want this year, I can’t say yes to everything, or even most things, if I want to accomplish what I have planned. I felt like last year was a constant stream of saying yes to everyone but me.
Maybe it sounds selfish, but I really need to reel it in this year and FOCUS. And realize that saying no doesn’t mean I’m missing out or disappointing people all the time. It just means I am living my life for me and prioritizing what I already have planned.
Happy about // Going with The Happy Planner again this year.
I absolutely love it. So affordable, super cute sticker accessories, and plenty of space for all the lists.
Scared to // Train and run another half marathon! I signed up for one in April.
I have run plenty, but just not recently. And never with two kids to take along every run. I’m not really sure how I’ll manage it all, but I am glad I took the plunge to work toward running regularly again.
Looking forward to // Just being home. My own bed and French press. Doing all my own grocery shopping and starting to meal plan again. Beach days.
