Hello, February! How a month of the year has already gone by seems crazy, but I am oddly okay with it as that means there is only another 74 more days until my due date. Not that I am counting or anything 😉
Lately, I’m really itching to write more “real life” or rambling posts (the posts that have no theme except my random musings!). I’ve seen other bloggers do “currently” posts at the beginning or end of the month. I’ve always wanted to but was always too lazy/unorganized/lame to get it together. So no time like the present!
I’m not saying this will be a guaranteed monthly thing (and honestly, who knows what will happen after Baby Bee gets here), but I can at least pretend this is my goal.
Reading // Surprisingly, reading has been my thing lately. I think because my mind is in constant baby-mode right now, reading provides a relaxing escape where I can stop realizing that in just a few months time I will become a mom.
I’m totally loving that Joyce Meyer devotional (I may actually review it once I read some more of it), Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, & Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth. And not so much the Runner’s world magazine, it just happens to sit on the coffee table 😉
Listening to // Hypnobabies!
Okay, I know I keep saying I’ll “tell you more about it soon” and never do, but I promise I am going to write an update on how this natural childbirth hypnosis program is going for me.
Right now, I listen to a daily pregnancy affirmations CD on my commute and then a self-hypnosis track once a day for 30 minutes. So total, I am listening to this stuff for an hour a day. It’s extremely positive, relaxing, and makes me feel great. I’ve already realized the difference it’s made in how I view pregnancy and how I feel emotionally.
Loving // Taking better care of myself. That was my one biggie resolution for 2015 and I’m definitely more “there” with this goal. January started out rough since I was sick and had zero energy to do anything other than survive work, but things have gotten a lot better since then.
I’ve been doing PiYo at least 4 days week. I actually worked out 5 days last week, which was the first time in a long time.
I’ve been staying off social media/blogging most nights so I can use that time to relax instead, hence all the reading. Doing hypnobabies has been a huge part of my feeling better too.
I’ve also been trying to take more time to meal plan & have it together on the healthy eating front a little more now lately too.
A little mini food prep sessions from last night: carrots, cucumbers, pineapple for smoothies/snacking, scones, zucchini bread, & a rotisseri chicken to make an easy dinner tonight.
Not loving // How ridiculously chapped my hands and lips have been lately. Actually, as I sit here my lips are on fire, but I am too lazy to get up and find one of the 5 chapsticks that lurks around my house at all times. Meh!
Craving: sweets like a mad woman.
My coworker asked if I needed anything while she was out, and I was like “Actually… a cupcake. Seriously.” Bless her heart for delivering this straight to my desk.
And all-things-breakfast foods.
Single serving whole wheat oat pancakes are on repeat over here.
Also, I took a glucose test a few weeks back (for gestation diabetes). I was so worried I’d fail and have to change my diet. Normal test results are 70-80. 140+ is failing. I was 57… Aka, getting close to being hypoglycemic. I feel totally fine though, so I doubt anything is wrong. But maybe this explains my insane sugar cravings lately, because I have low blood sugar? I don’t know. Not saying I should be eating so much sugar, but still.
Needing // More patience. I am driving myself insane lately trying to “guess” my actual due date. For whatever reason, I have the feeling she’ll come early. I’m not sure if this is real or just wishful thinking of what I want to happen. Any guesses from the peanut gallery??
I also want to have all the baby items now. I feel like my mommy/nesting mode is very much starting already. Oh, what a fun 10+ weeks it’s going to be until she comes!
Wanting // New workout clothes. I never bought maternity workout clothes. I have a hand-me-down pair of maternity yoga pants, but other than that, I’ve been trying to squeeze into my regular workout clothes.
I really just want new non-maternity workout clothes, though, so I’m going to hold out. This will definitely be my first post-baby treat once I am back in shape.
Putting off // Working on my wedding scrapbook… Hubby was gone all last week, and I was like, perfect opportunity to work on it! Except I didn’t.
I broke out the goods to get started yesterday and just looked at it and was like No. I definitely have to be in the mood to work on it. Hoping that mood comes before baby!
Looking forward to // Going to Colorado on Friday!!! My baby shower at my mom’s is this Saturday. I haven’t been back home in ages. I’m excited to see my family and old friends and have two 4-day work weeks this and next week 🙂
Questions for You:
- Tell me what you are… reading, loving, craving, wanting, needing?
- What are you making for dinner tonight? I’m trying these chicken floutas.
