Aloha! I’m back!
Thank you guys so much for ALL the comments! I came back to quite a few comments this morning and it made my day. The community and conversation here is honestly what keeps me blogging most days, so it’s a real treat to connect with you all again. I will respond to all the comments soon 🙂
It was extremely refreshing to be unplugged in July. I wasn’t 100% off social media – Facebook seems to suck me back in every time. Oops. I ended up using Facebook Marketplace to look for stuff for our house and try to sell things (I had no luck, if you’re curious – Craig’s List all the way). I reinstalled the app only a few days after deleting it to use Marketplace annnnd then I was back on FB. Whatevs.
I did stay 100% off Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat though. It felt lovely to just be present. Going forward, I am planning on taking weekends off social media or maybe trying to have only one hour a day that I am going to be on things and then leave my phone in another room.
Anyway, here is what has been currently up with me!
Reading // Summer Island by Kristin Hannah. A pleasant and fun beach read. The last Kristin Hannah book I read was a huge disappointment (Winter Garden) and I quit on it so this one has been refreshing.
Watching // This is a new one for me, as I don’t have a TV. A friend recommended a new TV show series called The Magicians by Syfy.
It is kind of cheesy but I am totally hooked! I am going to be so sad to finish the season and have to wait for the next one to start.
Drinking // All the smoothies, thank you!
I am obsessed with having my blender back. I usually put 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder, 1 cup of almond milk, a frozen banana, some PB2, and a big heaping spoonful of chunky peanut butter and eat it with a spoon. Yum!
Annnnd this this coffee – Hug Your Mug breakfast blend. I have been back to regular coffee after a long decaf stint and it’s not bothering me!
I got this stuff at Ross for $6. If you see any at Ross or TJ’s, snag it. It’s so good!
Loving // Having fresh flowers in my home at all times. And our new house. Here’s a little sneak peek.
More house pics are coming later this week. I can’t wait to show you guys!
Not Loving // That our house flooded 🙁 It could have been worse, as we caught a leak literally as soon as it happened, but it was still not pretty. Water damage is so vicious.
Did any of you hear about the tropical storm Darby that hit Hawaii? It was not a full scale hurricane, but it was nonstop rain for a whole weekend. Our laundry room flooded and we need to replace some floor boards now that were brand new. Such a bummer!
Needing // To realize Rome wasn’t built in a day. I legit spent all my money ASAP last month buying decorations for the house. I think if I bring another frame home, my hubby is going to flip out 😉
I really want a decorated nice house and feel like I’ve totally outgrown all our old decor (we hardly had any anyway) so I’m starting from square one. But I know I’m not going to have a Pinterest perfect house in the next month (or ever! haha).
Wanting // To fly all my favorite blog friends out for a girls weekend at the beach here. Please? This seriously has to happen someday.
Craving // Coffee, pineapple, fresh salads, and time at the beach.
Bane of my Existence // Figuring out how to style this IKEA 4×4 bookcase.
I used to love this thing, but now it’s just a magnet for all our junk. Any time I think of putting anything on it, Claire either climbs it or rips to shreds whatever was on the shelving. Ideas? Should I just give up and sell it?
Putting off // Not much, other than dealing with the IKEA unit! We have been really productive lately focusing on the house and getting connected with local activities and things. We are kind of putting off picking out paint colors, though. Paint is overwhelming to me.
Praying about // The state of our world, always. Expanding our family. Claire’s growth and development and that I’d be the best mom I can. To keep getting connected here and find new things to do and friends.
Happy about // Finding a mom’s stroller running group. There are actually tons of free workout groups here. I was so happy to find out about some of them.
I found one in the next town over and these ladies are beasts! But also so supportive and encouraging, no matter if your goal is just to walk run or run a marathon. It truly is an amazing group. It’s been so nice to get my butt out of the house early and give Claire some play time at a park with other kids her age after the runs/workouts.
Looking forward to // My sister-in-law getting here tomorrow! And my best friend just booked her trip here for Christmas! December cannot come fast enough 🙂
