I am so in love with April right now! The weather is super springy and gorgeous here in Texas, Claire is ONE this month, and I am tying up the last of my stay here, which is both bittersweet and exciting.
Here’s what’s been going on for me lately.
Reading // All the books!
I posted this on Instagram the other day. Just a little light reading 😉
I finished Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty on my vacation and loved it so much, I think I’ll review it. I really miss reviewing books lately so I think that needs to make a comeback.
I switched my daily devotional last month from Jesus Calling to The Uncommon Life Challenge by Tony Dungy. I actually go this for my husband for Christmas but he wasn’t that into it. I like how straightforward and easy to read it is. Jesus calling was a little too hippie or out there for me or something.
I also just finished Women Food and God by Geene Roth which I will definitely be reviewing. So SO good. If you’ve ever had even the slightest struggle with disordered eating, depriving yourself on diets, wanting to lose weight but not being able to, etc. you need to read all her books right meow.
I just started Inside the O’Briens by Lisa Genova. Honestly, I thought I wasn’t going to be impressed with this because it is an exact verbatim copy cat of Still Alice, just with a different disease and characters. But I am loving it right now, especially because it takes place in Boston.
Loving // That I took the plunge with launching Bee Sweet Photo + Design. I will be doing an “official” launch soon and it will have it’s own website, but for right now you can find it on Facebook and Instagram.
I put an ad on Facebook in my MOPs group and already have three photo shoots booked! And I’m in the works to redesign four blogs. So to say I’m excited is an understatement!
I am also loving that through my web host, DreamHost, all I had to do was buy a new domain name for $12 and nothing additional for hosting. Two websites in one!
Not Loving // That I decided to launch the business riiiight before our move. But I am the kind of person that, when I decide to do something, it happens now. There is no waiting for me. I go at things will full force once I decide.
I think it’s actually making me prioritize my time better though since I have to juggle so much.
Craving // All the coffee.
I have been an afternoon coffee person lately, which is unheard of for me because I usually so sensitive to caffeine. I think my sensitivity went away after having a kid. I wonder why 😉
Needing // To be more intentional at night with a bed time routine for myself. I have been on and off about this for so long. When I do a good job of really making it a point to relax before bed, I do so much better.
I have been getting some awesome quiet time in the mornings lately, but sometimes I’m finding it really hard to get to sleep and I know it’s because I just plunk myself down in bed right after doing the dishes or cleaning the house. I know I need to set a “cut off” point for myself and force myself to do something quiet and calming instead of busy right before bed.
Putting off // Organizing some things that need to be dealt with before our move, basically everything moving related – ugh!
My to do list is just super long right now and keeps being added to daily. I will be thankful when this month is over and the move is at least somewhat done until our stuff arrives a few months later.
Praying about // Our move and transition, my faith and to keep seeking the Lord, for future friends and community in Hawaii, health for specific people, my new business venture and that God would lead me to people or lead them to me
Happy about // Sticking with the LiveFit plan and that I joined a gym this year. I think it has had such a tremendous impact on my mood to get to workout alone and really focus on working out.
I also love that I’ve stuck with this plan despite some travel and illness thrown in. I can’t believe I’ll finish it at the end of the month!
Looking forward to // Having a garage sale this weekend and getting rid of stuff, a baby shower I’m going to Saturday, a photo shoot on Sunday, getting to Hawaii
