I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend!
Claire’s birthday was Saturday & we had a nice low key Easter yesterday. On Friday, I actually felt total disbelief that C’s birthday was the next day. I kept thinking “how is she two?!” I’m sure I’ll feel like this every single birthday of hers for, what, ever? The struggle of being a mom! It has definitely been kind of emotional for me to really see that she’s not the baby anymore, especially with an actual baby around now!
My in-laws just got in this week for an extended visit to see Stella and Hawaii for the first time. For Claire’s birthday, we all went to the Honolulu Zoo and had a nice big day out as a family.
Claire definitely loved the zoo. It was the perfect simple thing to do for her birthday. Stella was really good all day and pretty much slept for all of our outing.
Later in the day when we got home, we opened some presents.
We got her a Little People doll house and my in-laws got her a talking Elmo and a bunch of books. She loved them all!
Her face literally lit up when she saw the Elmo doll. I wish I had gotten a picture of that, but we opened it the night before and I wasn’t taking pics. So sweet to see her excited!
I think she had an awesome day. We also got her to say that she’s two, which she says more like “shoe.” Instead of holding up two fingers on one hand, she holds up one finger on both hands, which I think is adorable.
Easter was a low key day. We didn’t really have any plans. I thought we might go to see an Easter bunny because C seemed to love him any time we saw one out recently. It was pouring rain the whole day though, so we decided to just stay in.
We opened C’s Easter basket, which was a huge hit.
I got her a Water Wow book by Melissa & Doug (why did I not get her one sooner?!), a beanie baby lamb, bubbles, play dough, sidewalk chalk, two Easter books, a bunny sippy cup, & some candy (which I ate most of of, oops!). Easter is my favorite holiday. It was so fun to make her her first Easter basket 🙂
Stella was also two weeks old yesterday (omg where is time going!) so I took some photos of her too with these milestone cards I’m using.
This really puts into perspective just how big Claire is and how little Stella is! Stella is doing absolutely fabulous and is still a super easy baby. I’m taking these newborn days to soak up as much of this fleeting time as I can, but I’ll be sure to share a one month update more about her next month.
The weekend was so nice. I’m glad we did something special for Claire. After just two weeks of having a new addition to our family, I already feel like it’s so normal to have another baby around. Claire is still doing great with Stella. It’s just amazing how we expanded our family and it’s just so natural and everything is fitting together so well. I’m so thankful!
