I’ve really been enjoying taking some time off of both blogging and work to be with family on this vacation. I haven’t been up to much lately besides shopping, being with family, having big dinners, eating lots of sweets, and running.
Here’s a few snaps of what I’ve been up to lately!
I love admiring my in-laws tree 🙂
Super delicious homemade chicken noodle soup my mother-in-law made
We went to the Nashville Flea Market for the day & found some interesting things
We got a little goofy ice skating yesterday 😉
We went shopping at a giant used bookstore and they had a book tree!
And last night my sister & I made our favorite Christmas cookies: peanut butter blossoms.
Training: Week 4
The weather has also been amazing here in Tennessee. In fact, it was so warm that I wore shorts for my 8 mile long run the other day! It felt quite odd to be wearing shorts in December!
However, the only workouts that have been happening lately are my runs. I’m running outside up my in-laws driveway, which is about half a mile long and is almost completly uphill.
I did a strength workout last week before a run and I could barely make it up the hill! So strength training has fallen to the wayside for the moment.
Tuesday 17th – resy day
Wednesday 18th – 3 miles; sloooow run.
Thursday 19th – 3 miles; faster but still hard.
Friday 20th – rest day
Saturday 21st – 8 mile long run; really lost my mojo at about 5.5 miles due to humidity/dehydration
Sunday 22nd – went ice skating! Not quite a workout, but it sure felt like one with how sore I am now.
Monday 23rd – 3 miles; think I’m finally used to the steep driveway!
The fact that my training has pretty much stayed on track with the exception of strength training, I am really happy. I was concerned that I would just be super lazy & get really behind on my runs. It definitely helps to have my husband doing training with me, though.
I might check in one more time this week, but I’ll be spending the rest of the time enjoying Christmas & family time 🙂
Questions for You:
- What holiday activities have you been up to lately?
- Does it “feel like Christmas” to you? It’s been so warm here that it doesn’t truly “feel” like it to me.
