Since I took all of last week off for the most part, let’s catch up! And in case you missed my recap of 2016, check that out here.
Christmas was great this year because Claire could really open gifts and got excited about things. It was so so different than having a little baby for Christmas like we did last year. Last year, we were about to move too so we told family to hold off on gifts since we didn’t want even more things to pack and were unsure of what our future home would accommodate.
This year, the grandparents did not hold back on gifts one bit! And although this was what I would consider a “big” Christmas for Claire that won’t be typical, I loved every minute of it.
From us, she got the doll stroller and a diaper bag (in prep for little sister!) & the Pottery Barn Kids chair. We also let her open one present on Christmas Eve – these Sesame Street figures (above). She went NUTS for them! Best $10 I’ve ever spent 😉
From grandparents, she got a grow-with-me Radio Flyer trike, a pop up princess tent, a grocery cart, a Little People camper van (that is adorable), a Leap Frog alphabet dog, and some pearl earrings.
It was also great to spend Christmas with my best friend, Chloe. She got in Wednesday before Christmas and stayed for a week. My husband did end up having to work on Christmas Eve and day, but was at least home for the morning. We had my traditional Danish pancakes for breakfast, opened presents, and then Chloe, Claire, and I went to the beach.
We got a pretty late start going out so by the time we got to the beach the sun wasn’t really out and it wasn’t that warm. But hey – the beach on Christmas! A first for me.
Chloe is also an aspiring photographer so she took quite a few super cute pictures of Claire and I together during her time here.
I love this one!
It was a really great Christmas, despite it being so different than previous years and not going home to be with family.
I thought I was going to have time to share all about our travels to the Big Island in this post too, but this has gotten pretty long already, so I’ll save that for tomorrow 🙂
