Yesterday was my dear husband’s birthday. He’s not hugely into celebrating his birthday, though, so I try to keep it low key for him, hence no post about it yesterday 😉 You’re welcome, dearest.
We did have some celebrating yesterday that’s worth talking about, though.
Hubby loves beer. Almost as much as he loves me 😛 I got him a beer making kit last Christmas, and it’s been love at first brew for him. I got him a new kit recipe to make, a Jalepeno Saison. He loves Jalepenos and he loves Saison. Made for him? I think so.
Of course, he wanted to make
the kitchen explode the beer right away.
Beer-making is quite messy, but I love seeing him enjoy the process.
At the end, he chopped up a jalepeno and let it sit in the beer while it cooled. So weird! It definitely smells like jalenpeno. I’m excited to know what it tastes like in a few weeks.
As per his request, we had burgers for dinner. Such a man dinner, right?
We were going to grill them, but unfortunately the pool where the grills are at our apartments was locked when we went down. 🙁 We pan friends them instead. Still pretty good.
Love seeing a happy man and his burger 🙂
Big Chocolate Cake
One request that he made was to have a German Chocolate cake for his birthday this year. He made this request a while ago, though, so he forgot, and I got to surprise him with it.
Unfortunately, the cake didn’t turn out as good as I had hoped. It was my first try at making this kind of cake. Both layers of the cake broke in half when they came out of the pan, so it was just kind of a mess. But it still tasted good. Not bad for a first try, I guess.
Overall, it was a nice relaxing evening in with my favorite guy. Love you, sweetie!
