Claire and I have been beaching it up a lot since we moved to an island. Some of you have asked what my baby beach favorites are, so I thought I would share. This post is also sponsored by Just Born who was nice enough to give us the beach towel featured below.
Baby Beach Favorites
A towel is obviously a must at the beach. Although it’s plenty warm in Hawaii, Claire comes out of the water with her teeth chattering! Having a hooded towel to wrap her in, plus one that is so soft, is a must-have for us.
We actually got plenty of hooded towels at my baby shower for her, but this is honestly the nicest one we have. Even the packaging was really lovely.
This is now our go to towel. And even though it’s for “baby” it’s plenty big enough for my growing 16 month old toddler.
Kiss My Face Baby’s First Kiss SPF 50 Sunscreen
I looooooove this stuff! I’ve tried a few baby sunscreens and this is the winner for us.
It doesn’t have a weird smell, it goes on thick but not crazy white, and doesn’t irritate skin. I even use it on occasion when I want a higher SPF. It’s great.
Playtex Insulated Sippy Cups
It’s hot at the beach and sometimes we’re there for a while. It’s nice to have a cup that doesn’t sweat as much and keeps kiddos drinks cold for longer. I found these in two packs at my local grocery store but you can get them at Target too in both boy and girl patterns.
Cat & Jack Rash Guard Suit
Is this not the cutest? I just got this at Target. I always opt for a rash guard top to provide more SPF and protect Claire’s skin from the rocks/sand at the beach.
Waterproof Sun Hat
There’s a lot of sun hats on the market for babies, but if you need one for the beach or anything water related, I highly suggest a waterproof one.
I got this reversible one at Target for $7. It’s made of material similar to board shorts, so it dries fast.
The one time we took a cotton hat to the beach it was quickly a disaster when it got wet and then Claire had to go hat-less!
For those of you beaching with a baby this summer or anytime, I hope this little list of our baby beach favorites came in handy! Some non-baby specific things I always bring as well are a beach mat, an umbrella, and lots of water and snacks.
And a little tip, don’t ever use those baby floating things in the ocean if it’s rough! The waves coming in are sure to get baby wet and make them quite unhappy. I may know this from experience 😉
Have a great weekend!
