Thank you for visiting my little place on the internet. It means so much to me that you’re here, whether we’ve just “met” or you’re a long-time reader. I’m passionate about blogging and take each and every relationship I make seriously. So really – thank you for checking my blog out!
I’m Melissa – 27 years old, a wife to my wonderful husband (but he doesn’t show up here much 😉 ), a mom to one baby girl who I call Cici, and business owner at Bee Sweet Photo + Design. I’m a stay-at-home mom (and sometimes work-at-home!). I currently live on the island of Oahu in Hawaii (and yes, I love it!).
I’m a Christian, runner, book worm, total neat freak, and a little bit of a perfectionist (but I’m always working on that). I haven’t colored my hair in 7 years. I have to sleep with blankets, even if it’s 90 degrees. I have an Italian Greyhound named Beans who is my shadow and best friend. I am originally from Colorado, but have lived in California, Massachusetts, Texas, and now Hawaii.
I love travel. My dream is to spend a month in Paris someday and eat my body weight in croissants. I am obsessed with coffee, bakeries, donuts, and food in general. While I try to live a balanced life and do appreciate healthy eating, I fully believe in indulgence when I want it.
About the Blog
I’ve been blogging since 2012. I originally had a blog named Freeing Imperfections from 2012-mid 2016. As I learned more about blogging, I realized the direction of my writing was changing from a “healthy living” blog to a lifestyle blog. I rebranded my blog and renamed it Melissa in the Making in June 2016, but all the content from my first blog is still here.
Some of the topics I write about include recipes, blog tips, home projects and decor, workouts and fitness posts, motherhood, travel, fashion, and my every day life. You can also visit the categories page to see more.
I renamed my blog to represent “me” better. I knew I liked the idea of having my name in the title, but I also wanted something that could easily grow with me and didn’t define my topics. I also like alliteration so Melissa in the Making was perfect. I believe that I am always a work in progress and so this is me and my life in the making.
