Hey bloggity friends 🙂
Warning: this post is gonna be all kinds of random.
So – not gonna lie – I am super proud that I have managed to blog every week day since I started working. Before I got my job, my blog took up so much of my time because I could spend more time on it. I was worried that working and all the prep that comes with it would totally drown out my blogging time, but it hasn’t. I’m so thankful for that and that I’ve sort of found balance with it in the past couple weeks.
Last night was the first time I was able to sit back and not feel like I wasn’t well-adjusted anymore. I know I will still have my moments of feeling like I’m all out of whack, but I’m going on a month of working this week, and it feels like I’m finally getting it. I hope.
Yesterday I managed to get up early (5:45 early) to do one of my leg circuit workouts. I thought that workout was hard to begin with, but try doing it at 6 am? Yeah, it’s hard.
Then I went for a run after work. No more of this trying to wake up at 5 am crap and running in the dark, alone, scared. I know you were worried, mom. Don’t worry 😉
I ran 2 miles at my favorite outdoor trail, which is thankfully on my way home from work anyway. I ran a sub-10 minute mile. Anything under 10 minutes is basically awesome for me for not having been running that much lately and it being after a long work day. WIN.
Then I came home to pure marital bliss. My husband had vacuumed, started laundry, and was in the process of finishing dinner. Can I say I’ve trained him well? Maybe. But really – he has been an amazing support since I’m not around for all the chores anymore.
We had crock pot beef brisket with stew veggies & some parmesan garlic rice. It was so good, especially after a run.
After that meal, we talked about doing a crock pot meal every Monday night to make the start of the week a little easier and to have some leftovers for lunches throughout the week. My husband actually prepped the meal Sunday night, and I popped it into the crock pot early Monday morning. Love it!
After that, we hung out on the couch together with Beans. I finally caught up on some blog reading as I relaxed with a cup of tea and candle.
It was very nice to have some chill time and finally get that feeling of routine and “having it together” for a little while, however fleeting it may be. I’m excited to be feeling in a routine though.
Waking up has been slowly getting easier. Hopefully I stick with it this week and can finally say I did all I planned to accomplish!
