I’m awake now, but wow, were the hubby & I tired this morning. We went to bed really late last night, which makes for one groggy morning.
Since I didn’t get up in time to run outside before it became deathly hot & humid, I decided to head to the gym instead. It isn’t actually all that hot in terms of temperature, but the humidity is ridiculous today. I opened my balcony door to be hit with a huge wave a muggy heat. I could just feel it making me sweat. Bleh! No thank you!
To keep up with half-marathon training, I needed to do 3 miles and some strength training. I knew the only way I could get 3 miles done on the treadmill was to break it up into smaller chunks.
I did this treadmill/strength circuit three times to get in 3 miles and some leg/booty strength for the week.
So sweaty by the end! I really loved the combo of running a mile and then doing strength. That definitely helped get me to run 3 miles without being totally bored to death on the treadmill.
I ran the first mile at a pretty easy pace, then I really pushed myself for the second mile, and then tried to maintain a steady pace for the last mile.
What surprised me though was how fast I ran this morning! I finished the 3 miles with an average pace of 8’48”. I haven’t been running under 10 minute miles since mid June. Clearly, the heat and humidity is killing my pace. On the other hand, I’m glad I realized I am getting a better pace after all.
On a totally random side note, I finally got a case for my Kindle! I don’t know why I waited so long, but I’m glad I found this super cute one.

Well, I have a bajillion errands to run and things to get done and only 24 hours like the rest of us. It’s also my husband’s birthday tomorrow, so I’ve gotta do a little prep for the man 🙂
