Two weeks to go, people!
Bed Rest Updates: Bed rest won’t be lifted because I am so far along, although it is generally considered safe to have baby any time now, so I’ve been more active recently.
At 36 weeks, we had an ultrasound that said she was only measuring in the 14th percentile for weight/size. When a baby gets to the 10th percentile or less, they start to question whether or not baby is still growing properly (and if they are not, they will likely induce).
I had a repeat ultrasound to check her growth again on Tuesday and all looks good! She jumped to the 35th percentile and say she may weigh 6 lbs. 8 oz, so she is on the smaller side, but not too small to be concerned. I was really concerned she wouldn’t have grown and I’d have to be induced! Not what I want! I’m so glad that’s not the case though.

She knew I want to take my own newborn photos. SO perfect for Baby Bee! 🙂
How I’m Feeling: “Done” is a good way to describe how I’m feeling. I recently found this post from Monica who just had a baby in March (congrats!) about her end of pregnancy thoughts. My feelings exactly.
My symptoms lately include…
- mega bad heartburn again
- loss of appetite, not wanting to eat real meals, just snacks
- not sleeping well, very tired some days, insomnia
- lots of Braxton Hicks, sometimes for hours, which is annoying!
- swelling in my hands & feet. I can’t wear my wedding ring all the sudden!
Weight Gain: Gaining has tapered off a bit, which I guess is normal in the 3rd tri. I actually went to a few appointments and they said I hadn’t gained anything. Baby is still gaining though, so that’s good!
Maternity Clothes: I am so ready for the day that I am not limited to two pairs of pants. I am tired of looking at all the same clothes! Thankfully stuff is still fitting and should for the next two weeks if I go that long.
Sleep: It seems like every other night I sleep well. So every other night, I’m not sleeping well. I get really sweaty at night and wake up feeling gross. Rolling over is so hard. My belly needs to be supported underneath or the weight of it pulling my down feels really bad.
Fitness: notta! Walking for any extended period of time longer than three minutes gives me strong Braxton Hicks.
Craving: beer, coffee, wine, chocolate, and all junk food
Food Aversions: anything normal? I feel like I can eat crackers, cereal, yogurt, snack bars, bagels/toast, pasta, and fresh fruit. Everything else doesn’t sound good.
Missing: Having my body as my own. Sharing for the first few months isn’t so bad, since you can barely feel baby. But now that I have felt another actual person moving inside me for months now – I am ready.
Movement: Much less these days. I actually went to L&D for a nonstress test (where they test the baby’s movement, to make sure it’s normal) because I was worried about not feeling her move enough. She was fine. I think she is just getting really cramped. She has the hiccups all the time though.
New for Baby: This technically isn’t “for baby” but it’s in her room. I got this cute frame last week & found a free printable online. Loving it.
My friend also sent me the Willow Tree mom holding the baby. I love it!
Oh, and a sound machine just in case. People told me it was a lifesaver. We shall see.
Most Looking Forward to: the realization that I am for sure in labor.
I’ve honestly “been in labor” for weeks now. I have contractions all the time, sometimes lasting hours, but they never form a pattern or become any more painful, so I know they’re not the real thing. I am just so looking forward to that moment when I can say, “alright, this really is it!”
