29 DAYS until my due date! We are no longer talking in months, but DAYS. I am so so very excited.
Bed Rest Update: It is still active and will be until I go into labor, I think. As soon as I get moving (like walking around a store to shop, any light but continuous activity) I get strong braxton hicks that are painful. So maybe those aren’t actually BH’s but real contractions? I don’t know, but taking it easy is still a must
I had a nonstress test and ultrasound on Monday. Baby looks great, but they are saying she is measuring a little small for how far along I am. They want to do another scan in two weeks to make sure she is growing okay. So now I think it’s even more vital that I go to term with her so she isn’t a little shrimp!
How I’m Feeling: physically, pretty well. I am still having some unexplained bleeding so my bed rest is still active, but other than that, I think everything is okay. I got great feedback at the doctor’s this week from an ultrasound and non-stress test. They said everything looks spot on, but still can’t explain the bleeding.
Emotionally, I am a little all over the place lately. ALL I can think about is the baby coming. It’s like my entire purpose and life right now is to have this baby, and that feels
slightly very annoying at times. I feel that it’s so close that I can just taste it, but since I have no idea when I’ll go into labor, I try not to get too excited about things too soon.
Weight Gain: Sadly, I saw the actual weight that I am up to when I was on the scale at the doctor’s last week, which I was trying to avoid. However, I am still gaining great according to my doctor. I think I will gain less than I expected, but it is starting to feel like a lot of weight on my body.
Maternity Clothes: Now that I’m home all the time, dressing is even more limited since I didn’t buy much casual maternity clothes. I am legit down to 2 pairs of pants that fit that aren’t my work pants.
Sleep: I’ve actually been getting pretty deep sleep lately. My belly is very uncomfortable and rolling over is basically a workout now, but I’ve definitely had worse sleep.
Fitness: non existant thanks to bed rest. But to be honest, if I wasn’t on bed rest, I feel like I wouldn’t be doing much of anything these days anyway.
I feel very nervous about my first workouts after baby after taking such a long break from my regular routine, but it is what it is.
Craving: coffee, but nothing else in particular. Food actually doesn’t sound that good most of the time. I feel a little bit of a loss of appetite these days and feel I am eating less.
Food Aversions: none
Missing: sleeping on my stomach, normal quantity bathroom trips, beer, actually having a waist
Movement: not as much lately. I had a non-stress test the other day because I said I noticed decreased movement, but of course, baby girl was a wild child during the test. I think she just has way less room to move now so it’s not as noticeable when she does.
New for Baby: Holy cow, tons of new stuff. From the shower I had on Saturday, we got:
- a manual breast pump & bottles
- some blankets & books
- two bath gift sets with shampoo/lotion/etc.
- a cloth diaper set & tons of wipes
- some bibs, teethers, & other toys
- a bassinett
My favorite gift from the shower was from my hostess who made both of these blankets.
Absolutely in love with the chevron one, as it matches my nursery to the t.
We also finished getting anything left still on the registry this week, so I ordered two strollers, the crib mattress, & a couple of other things that should be here soon. We really don’t need anything else except to stock up on diapers.
Most Looking Forward to: going into labor. I’ve said this almost every week, but I am actually looking forward to labor. Maybe I will have different things to say about it once it’s all said and done, but once it starts, it means that this pregnancy is over and my little girl is almost here! Legit excited!
