Happy Friday! How was your Turkey Day?
I had an awesome time running my 4-miler turkey trot. I was a little skeptical about it since I hadn’t run outside or run more than 2 miles in about 2 months but it went very well!
My husband and 2 of his work friends ran it with us. I wanted to finish in about 45 minutes and I did it in 46 and change. Not bad for being half-way pregnant, if you ask me. My legs are definitely feeling it today.
Our turkey day was also a huge success! We had 5 people over and 5 dogs – it was a full house! We deep-fried our turkey for the first time and it was awesome.
I am not a huge turkey fan so I admittedly didn’t have much but 2 people and my husband said it was the best turkey they ever had, no joke.
Our Thanksgiving spread was awesome with tons of food.
Everyone ate so much, though, that we all barely ate dessert. Somehow we got left with half my pumpkin cheesecake, a bunch of cookies & muffins, and half of 2 pies. OMG! I may be having pie for breakfast 😉
I’ve really been into tabata workouts lately. They go by quickly but totally maximize your time spent working out. If you’re new to tabata, the basic premise is that you workout for a given time period (for this workout, 4 minutes per tabata set) with short periods of rest in between but for longer periods of time.
At first, I was not a fan of not doing a set amount of reps. You need a stop watch for it but the app on my phone works great. I am always much more sore the day after a tabata workout than a regular circuit workout, so I really like throwing these in to feel the burn a little more.
And I’m sure we all need to burn a few calories after yesterday, huh? 😉
Questions for You:
