Wow – the last day of the year!
Sometimes I really struggle with recapping my life in larger chunks. I’ve always wanted to do monthly recap posts of what happened that month and I can never seem to get it together. The thought of recapping an entire year sometimes overwhelms me!
The other day one of my friends said she always does a top 10 list for the year to reflect. I thought that was so easy and smart, so here we go!
I had a lot of fun decorating the entry way and our bedroom.
3. I turned 25.
4. I ran a marathon.
This was a really interesting year in running for me. I trained hard in the spring, starting the year with a (freezing) half-marathon in January, ran a 20 mile race before the marathon, and finishing with the most awesome experience of my life: the marathon.
After the marathon, I was quite burned out though and took it easy. Then I got pregnant in July and running has taken the backseat lately. I’m sure that running will return eventually after baby gets here. And I most definitely want to run a marathon again.
5. We went to the Dominican Republic!
6. We celebrated our 2nd anniversary.
It wasn’t ideal especially over the summer, but he has recovered fully, and we are so glad! I think through the whole situation, it’s made me love him even more than I thought I could.
9. I got pregnant!
And we found out we’re having a girl.
10. We spent the holidays in Tennessee with my in-laws – always a highlight of my year.
2014 was a pretty big year for me between work, running, and now expecting our newest family member. I’m pretty sure if someone told me last year that all these things would happen this year, I would have told them that I wasn’t ready for it and I wouldn’t know how to make it through all that. But I have and it’s been one of my best years yet.
I’m excited for 2015 as our little girl will arrive in a few months and we get to move across the country once again. Happy New Year’s Eve!
