Time for another bumpdate! Just like I said last week, I feel like these weeks are flying by. Just popping in (and out! haha) for a quick update today.
Since sometimes I don’t have a lot of photos for these posts, I made this cute info graphic to make you happy.
How I’m feeling: lots of energy, but this and the end of last week I started feeling dizzy, faint, and just not right. I went to an appointment on Monday, and turns out I have really low blood pressure.
I always have, but apparently pregnancy can make it even lower. Blood pressure can hit its lowest in the middle of the second trimester, which is right now! It is supposed to get a little higher in the third trimester.
It’s frustrating because the only recommendations they have for making this manageable is eating and drinking often, sitting, and lying down – all of which I am already doing. Sometimes I will be sitting when I start to feel like this, so I can’t really sit any more than I am! I actually feel like being active helps me feel better and sitting so much at work may be what makes my blood pressure so low. Anyway, it’s no cause for concern yet and is very common – just annoying!
Weight gain: confirmed at the doc’s this week that I gained just shy of 8 pounds. Looking good for where I am.
Maternity Clothes: I feel like I can style myself a little better now that I have some more bump action going on! I also bought maternity panty hose this week for work – great purchase!
Sleep: better than it’s been in the past 2 weeks. I’m “used to” getting up in the middle of the night now to pee.
Fitness: GREAT! I RAN this week! 😀
- Monday: first run in 2 months! 1 mi & some lower body strength
- Tuesday: 20 minute power walk with Beans
- Wednesday: this awesome arms workout from Heather & 10 minutes on the elliptical
- Thursday: 2 mi run
Very very glad to say running feels right again and that I have the energy for it. I am sticking to the treadmill since it’s dark at all hours I could possibly run outside. But still – running is running!
Gender: GIRL! I am so very excited about that fact 🙂
Craving: soda – any time I see one, I am like dang that sounds good (maybe a sign I need more sodium bc of the blood pressure thing??), a peppermint mocha
Food aversions: had some issues with cold chicken this week and not wanting eggs for breakfast yesterday
Missing: a good drink would be nice, like some red wine with dark chocolate would so hit the spot. Other than that, I am really happy to be pregnant now
Purchased for baby: nothing new yet. I went into Carter’s this week (50% for Veterans day, FYI!) and wanted to buy everything. I want to hold out until after my baby showers though so I don’t overpurchase.
Most looking forward to: Christmas. I can’t wait to have a hopefully legit belly by then & spend the holiday with my in-laws. My husband putting together the crib, which he joked he would do two weeks before my due date (that was a joke, right, sweetie?).
